Alan Penman: composer and creator of Choonbaboon

Alan Penman is an Edinburgh based composer who has written music for over 20 years.

He is one of Scotland’s most respected composers for children and young people, and specialises in writing accessible and engaging music and songs

Alan  has written music for the Disney Channel, CBBC, CBeebies, CITV, BBC Alba and BBC2  and was composer and presenter for 10 series of BBC Schools “What? Where? When? Why?”

His musicals for children, commissioned by Scottish Opera, have been performed all over the UK and abroad and is an experienced music workshop leader, encouraging songwriting with children of all ages.
